Wondercheck Leads Tritons to 3-0 Sweep vs Lancers

The Pacifica Christian Girls Volleyball Team remains undefeated in league play after another solid performance Friday evening, improving their season record to 10-4. The Tritons hosted the visiting Lancers from Western Christian in their first league meeting of the season. In the 2022 season, the Orange and Navy split with the Lancers winning at home and losing on the road. The Tritons came out ready to play this evening as they swept the Lancers 3-0 winning the sets, 25-18, 25-13, 25-22.

Entering the game, the squad came prepared with the mindset that they needed to be solid in all areas on the court, knowing the Lancers would put up a good challenge. Junior Chara Wondercheck was the standout performer on the court tonight as she was dominant in all areas. Chara created havoc for the Western Christian defense as she recorded seven aces from the service line. Up on the net, she led the team with 13 kills and also had seven digs. Junior Kaelin Rieke led the team with four blocks against a powerful Lancer offense. Junior libero Kaitlyn Dion had another stellar performance as she tied Wondercheck with seven digs on the backline.

With this win, the Tritons remain undefeated in league play alongside rival Capistrano Valley Christian who has also yet to lose a league game. The Orange and Navy will travel on Tuesday, September 12 to TVT for their first league meeting of the season. Game is set to start at 5:00 pm.
