Girls Volleyball Defeat Samueli Academy in Four

The Pacifica Christian Girls Volleyball team had another outstanding showing Friday night defeating the Firewolves of Samueli Academy 3-1 on the road. The Orange and Navy came out strong in the first set, winning 25-10. After a 20-25 loss in the second set, the squad bounced back taking the next two sets 25-13 and 25-15.

Junior Chara Wondercheck and Sophomore Emma Hartman led the offensive charge with two outstanding performances this evening. With 21 combined kills from the outside, 12 from Wondercheck, and nine from Hartman. Junior Kaelin Rieke helped steady the offense up on the net with seven kills and four blocks. The Tritons kept Samueli off balance with outstanding service aces from Sophomore setter Addie Roberson who tallied six aces on the night causing chaos for the Firewolves on the receiving end.

Head Coach Ron Cheser is pleased with the overall progress of the girls and stated: "These athletes are smart and are making better decisions and choices at the right moments. As they grow into the new system of play they are going to be a handful for other teams. There are still many learning and cultural changes occurring as the team learns to come adversity; outwork others in games and for players to compete in practices." With this win, the Orange and Navy improve to 3-0 on the season.

The Tritons are back at it Monday, August 21 on the road against Laguna Hills High School. The first serve is set for 4:30 pm.
