Six School Records Broken at Track and Field League Meet

The Pacifica Christian Track and Field team broke six school records earlier this week at the squad's second league cluster of the season. Both boys' and girls' teams finished third out of eight overall behind Webb and Western Christian. 

On the girl's side, there were four school records broken. Senior Charis Wondercheck continues to display her talent on the hurdles as she broke the 100M hurdle with a time of 15.28 and the 300M hurdle with a time of 47.15. With those times, Charis broke both school records and took home first place in both events. Wondercheck now sits tied for 27th in the state of California in the 100M hurdles and 55th in the 300M hurdles. Sophomore Katie Fischer set a new school record for the discus with a distance of 74 feet, two inches, breaking the previous record. Competing in the 4x400 relay were Akyli Maze, Kallie Martin, Katie Fischer, and Ashley Gundlach who ran a time of 4:35.56 setting a new school record in this event as well. 

On the boy's side, Jaelin Morris-Orchen set the new school record for the discus and shot put. In the discus, Jaelin set the record with a new distance of 79 feet two inches, and in the shot put a new distance of 33 feet 10 inches. 

The Tritons will compete this Friday and Saturday at the Trabuco Hills Invite which will be held at Trabuco Hills High School.
