The Pacifica Christian Girls Tennis Team opened up their season with a dominating 13-5 win over the visiting Defenders from Valley Christian. The Tritons who finished runner-up in CIF-SS Division 4 last season were led to victory by first-year Head Coach John Staph who is eager to lead the team to another successful season. After graduating only two seniors last year, the core of the team was back and ready to hit the courts this year. 

There was a strong showing from all three singles players this afternoon. Leading the Orange and Navy was Senior Captain Kiana Guinta. Kiana played as the number one single Thursday afternoon, sweeping her opponent in all three matches and continuing to be a dominant force for opposing teams. Right behind her was Senior Lexie MacDougall who played as the number two single and continued the streak, sweeping her opponent in all three matches as well. Senior Captain Aubrey Callaghan followed suit, as she played as the number three single, sweeping her opponent in all three matches. 

In the doubles matches, Junior Charlie Rogers and Sara Read were solid out on the court, as well as Junior Lila Gesuale and Senior Bella Willhoit who continued to be a steady force out on the court for the Tritons. Rounding things out in the doubles matches were Senior Mary Maruyama and Kate Coulsell who played a key role in leading the squad to their first win of the season.
