Girl's Soccer Comes From Behind to Beat CVCS

The Pacifica Christian Girl's Soccer team scored four second-half goals to come from behind to defeat the Eagles of Capistrano Valley Christian, 4-1, to secure their first league win of the season. The Lady Tritons, 1-2-1 in the San Joaquin League and 9-5-3 overall, were led by Junior forward Talia Proctor, who scored two goals in the final 10 minutes to secure the victory for the squad. Junior Maggie Contreras recorded a goal and an assist, while Freshman forward Lana Stewart recorded her 23rd goal of the season. The win comes at a much-needed time for the Orange and Navy, who bounce back after dropping two league games back to back to Western Christian and The Webb School last week.

"It was a big win for us," said Head Coach Brandon Gonzalez. "The win means we still control our own destiny and while a League Title is technically not out of the question, our playoff route is still controlled by us, and that is important."

The Lady Tritons will host the next four games of their season, all at Vanguard University. The Orange and Navy take a break from league play as they will host a non-league match-up on Friday, January 18, at 3:00 pm, vs Legacy College Prep. The Lady Tritons will then host Samueli Academy on January 23 at 3:00 pm, before returning to league play on Wednesday, January 25, where they will host Fairmont Prep.
