Tritons Go 3–1 at Tarkanian Classic, Showcase Depth and Defensive Dominance

The Pacifica Christian girls basketball team delivered a strong showing at the Tarkanian Classic this weekend, finishing the tournament with a 3–1 record against quality competition from across the West. The Tritons are now 6-8 on the season.

Pacifica Christian opened the weekend with a dominant 52–17 victory over Spring Valley (Colorado). Vivian Villagrana led the Tritons with 17 points, while Ali Cliff added 10 points and Olivia Ham chipped in seven. Kassandra Aguiniga scored eight points and collected five steals, and KK Burrus filled the stat sheet with eight points, seven rebounds, and four assists. Angie Martinez made her presence felt on both ends, recording seven rebounds, seven steals, six assists, and three blocks as the Tritons overwhelmed Spring Valley with defensive pressure.

In game two, Pacifica Christian battled Denver South in a tight contest that came down to the final possessions. Despite the Tritons' effort, they fell just short in a 46–44 loss, marking their only setback of the weekend.

The Tritons bounced back emphatically in game three with a 63–34 win over Arbor View. Villagrana continued her strong play, pouring in 22 points and grabbing seven rebounds. Cliff added 15 points, while Martinez controlled the glass with 10 rebounds and dished out five assists. Burrus pulled down nine rebounds, Aguiniga recorded five steals, and Rachel Ham contributed seven points and four steals in another complete team performance.

Pacifica Christian closed the tournament on a high note with a 56–33 victory over Quartz Hill. Villagrana led the scoring once again with 16 points and four rebounds. Aguiniga finished with eight points and five steals, while Rachel Ham and Burrus each added eight points. Martinez anchored the interior with six rebounds, three blocks, and five assists as the Tritons controlled the game from start to finish.

With a 3–1 record at the Tarkanian Classic, Pacifica Christian showcased depth, defensive intensity, and balanced scoring, gaining valuable experience and momentum as the season moves forward. The Tritons are right back at it on Friday December 26th in the Whitter Tournament where they play St. Paul at 1:30pm.
