Girls Basketball returned to the Triton Event Center this week as they kicked off their 2024-2025 season in a thrilling win against Lakewood.  Entering their eighth year, the Tritons are ready for another exciting and competitive season. Entering his third season as Head Coach, Pablo Martinez is excited to lead this program through another successful season. Alongside Coach Pablo will be assistant coaches Jasmine Martinez and Cheyenne Berbery. For the first time in program history, the Tritons will fill a JV Team this season! 

The Tritons graduated two starters last season, Lauryn Ham and Alexia Valencia, and return the core group of this team Senior Caylie Villagrana is the sole senior this year. Caylie (C) will lead this group on the court. Her ability to lock down on-ball defense, create open looks for her teammates, and her exceptional shooting makes her a true standout. Villagrana was awarded Honorable Mention last season and was a key player in the Tritons offense. Junior Angie Martinez will anchor the back line defensively with her shot-blocking ability, providing a strong presence in the paint. Her versatility on offense makes her a tough matchup for opponents. 

Other juniors on the team include Kassandra Aguinga (C) and Vivian Villagrana, both of whom were impact players for the Tritons last season and will continue to be steady leaders of this program. The sophomore class returns Oliva and Rachel Ham as well as Taylor Gundlach. The Orange and Navy welcome five newcomers to the team: KK Burrus, Alexa Charfauros, Anela Enanoria, Emery Pelinka, and Lucy Soliday. 

All home games will be live-streamed on NFHS. The Tritons will host the 2nd Annual Pacifica Christian Girls Basketball Showcase presented by John Markwith a State Farm Agent on Tuesday, November 26th where they will compete in the 4:00 pm game against Santa Margarita. The Orange and Navy will compete in the San Joaquin League against Avalon and Fairmont Prep, only having three total teams in the league. Senior Day will be on Friday, January 31st against Avalon at 12:30 pm in the Triton Event Center. CIF Divisional Rankings will be released at the end of the season based on the 2024-2025 performance per the new system.
