The Triton Cross Country teams are heading down to San Deigo this weekend to race in one of California's longest-running and most iconic meets, the 45th Annual Sundevil Cross Country Invite sponsored by Asics. This event takes place on Saturday, October 4th, 2025, at Morley Field in Balboa Park, San Diego. Heading into the weekend the boy's cross country team is sitting in first place amongst their league competitors and sophomore Joseph Gudino is ranked first amongst all runners. Gudino previously set the school record in the three mile at the Woodbridge Invitational, running a 16:16.8 just a few weeks ago. On the girls side, senior Lila Glidewell currently sits in first place in the league over runners from Samueli Academy and Western Christian, while the team sits in second. 

This historic venue home to the 2024 Footlocker National XC Championships will once again host thousands of athletes eager to test themselves on one of the nation's most revered courses. With over 90% of the 3-mile layout overlapping the Footlocker championship course, runners can expect a true test of grit, rhythm, and late-race strength.

Unlike traditional team scoring formats, Mt. Carmel features grade-level races freshmen, sophomore, junior, and senior divisions allowing coaches to evaluate their rosters individually while still fostering team pride. Each race will once again be split into large and small school divisions, with awards going to the top 50 finishers in every group.

With athletes coming from across California and neighboring states and 100 schools participating, it is set to be an exciting race!
