Boys Tennis Defeats TVT, Clinching the First Win in Program History!
Pacifica Christian Boys Tennis made history with a resounding victory over TVT (Tarbut V'Torah) with a final score of 16-2 on Friday afternoon. Launched this year, and led by Head Coach John Staph, Boys Tennis is the newest sport to be represented by the Tritons. This win marks a significant milestone for the program as it secures its first-ever win in school history. The team's outstanding performance was highlighted by senior Riley Cardiff, who clinched his first-ever golden set, contributing significantly to the team's success!
Riley Cardiff's golden set exemplifies the level of skill and determination exhibited by the Pacifica Christian Boys Tennis team. A golden set occurs when a player wins every single point in a set, a rare and impressive accomplishment in tennis. Cardiff's remarkable performance not only secured a pivotal victory for the team but also showcased his talent and leadership on the court. Nicholas MacDougall and Peter Reed were also dominant in the singles category, combining for five points.
"This was a great day for Pacifica Christian Athletics," remarked Director of Athletics and Student Life Brandon Gonzalez "I am super proud of these boys for stepping up and founding this program and getting a win on only their second match of the season speaks into the team and their dedication in starting things off well. Shoutout to Riley Cardiff on his golden set, and for being a pivotal piece for this team!"
The win over TVT signifies a momentous occasion for Pacifica Christian Boys Tennis, marking the beginning of what promises to be a successful journey for the program. The Orange and Navy have four more matches scheduled for this season, with their next one set to take place on Tuesday, March 19th against Fairmont Prep, starting at 1:00pm.
