Boys Golf Undefeated After Four Matches
The Pacifica Christian Boys Golf Team is off to an impressive start this season as they have gone undefeated to start the year. The squad has won its last four matches against Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa, Western Christian, Samueli Academy, and Valley Christian.
In their first match of the season, the Tritons shot a new school record of 195 against Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa at Willowick Golf Course. The Orange and Navy have a long list of talent this season across all grades and have proven to be dominant out on the course.
On Monday the Tritons beat Samueli Academy 176 to 242. Leading the Tritons was Senior Menlo College commit Charles Thurston who shot one under and was the medalist on the day. Right behind him was standout freshman Matthew Hull who shot even par and Junior Ethan Shumlas and Dalton Bateau who both put up a 38. Rounding things out for the Tritons was Junior Asher Alexander who shot 41 and Sophomore Blake Bush who shot 44.
In yesterday's match against Valley Christian, the Orange, and Navy once again came out on top, beating the Defenders by 30 strokes. Leading the squad were Eston Kallins and Charles Thurston who both shot two over par which equaled a 38 at Skylinks Golf Course. Right behind them was Matthew Hull who shot 40 and Ethan Shumlas and Asher Alexander who threw up a 44 and Dalton Bateau who shot 46.
Head Coach Jeff Anderson remarks "I am very proud of this team and their performances this season so far. They have been playing some really great golf and I am excited for the future of this season and program."
The Tritons will compete in the Estancia Tournament on Monday, March 19th at Costa Mesa Golf Course.
