Boys Golf Shatters Record Again at Strawberry Farms

The Pacifica Christian Boys Golf team shattered the program record again on Tuesday, March 26 against Fairmont SJC. After breaking a two-year-old record last week by shooting +14, the Tritons shaved off four more strokes on Tuesday to shoot 190 (+10)  setting a new low score for the program. This round took place at Strawberry Farms Golf Club, a par 36 set within the canyons of Irvine and some tight fairways, making it difficult to score low.

With six golfers competing for the Tritons, the Orange and Navy counted the lowest five scores, beating Fairmont SJC 190-255.  Matthew Hull recorded his seventh round under par of the season, shooting 34 (-2) with birdies on the fourth, fifth, and seventh holes. Senior Eston Kallins was one shot behind, shooting 35 (-1) with birdies on the second, sixth, and an eagle on the ninth hole. Will Watson and Ethan Shumlas both came in shooting 39 (+3), each tallying one birdie. Rounding things out for the Tritons were Asher Alexander and Blake Bush who posted a 43 and 44 respectively. Freshman Luke Watson competing individually posted a career-low 37 (+1) with birdies on the sixth and ninth holes.

"I am so incredibly proud of this group." remarked Head Coach Tanner Motske "They continue to show up every day and put in the work for each other which speaks to the comradery of this group and how special it is."

The team is back in action on Wednesday, March 27 against Newport Christian before they have a week off of matches.  The Tritons have yet to face off against Anaheim Discovery Christian, who is in Divison 1 and won the Academy League Title last season.
