Pacifica Christian Boys Basketball Secures Fourth Straight League Title in Historic 2025–26 Season
The Pacifica Christian boys basketball team capped off another championship-caliber season in 2025–26, finishing 20–7 overall and continuing to cement its place as one of the premier programs in the area.
The Tritons claimed a share of the San Joaquin League championship with San Gabriel Academy and Fairmont Prep, finishing 4–2 in league play. The title marked Pacifica Christian's fourth consecutive league championship and the fifth league crown in program history, a testament to the team's consistency and sustained excellence.
Pacifica Christian set the tone early in the season with a season-opening victory over Edison, at the seventh annual Bring the Rain Basketball Game. Tournament play further highlighted their depth and versatility, as they captured the Meet in the Middle Classic hosted by Bakersfield Christian and went a perfect 3–0 on a road trip to Seattle, gaining valuable experience against unfamiliar competition.
One of the most memorable moments of the season came on January 19, when the Tritons defeated San Gabriel Academy at home in dramatic fashion. With the game on the line, Michael Noel drilled a game-winning three-pointer, igniting the home crowd and delivering one of the defining wins of the year.
Senior Night on February 4 provided another unforgettable chapter. Pacifica Christian honored 10 seniors, the largest graduating class in program history, before taking the floor in a must-win matchup against Fairmont Prep. Fueled by emotion and focus, the Tritons jumped out to a 12–0 start and never trailed, securing a crucial 50–46 victory over the Huskies to help lock up a share of the league title and redeem an earlier loss.
The Tritons' success was powered by contributions from the entire senior class. Ottowa University committ Donovan Hogan anchored the interior and led the team in rebounds, providing toughness and consistency on both ends of the floor. Solomon Huang was the engine of the offense, leading the team in assists and steals while setting the pace defensively. Michael Noel emerged as the team's primary scoring threat, leading the Tritons in points per game and delivering in key moments throughout the season. Transfer Ian Escobar also played an important role, adding depth and strength on the defensive end of the ball.
As the regular season comes to a close, Pacifica Christian now turns its attention to the CIF playoffs. CIF brackets will be released Saturday at noon, with the Tritons anticipated to be placed in Division 1. First round will take place on February 13. If placed in Division 2, first round would be February 11th.
