Mens Beach Volleyball Defeat Mater Dei 4-3
Pacifica Christian Men's Beach Volleyball defeated Mater Dei this past week, 4-3, to close out regular season play and earn a spot in the OCBVL playoffs. Coming off a hard-fought loss to Edison High School a week ago, the Tritons knew they had to have a short memory in order to prepare for their season finale against Mater Dei. First-year Head Coach Tim Shenkin was thrilled with how his team responded. "They fought so hard and had awesome offense, their discipline and energy helped contribute to a great finish"
Heading into the 4's match, the final match of the day and a match that is worth two points to the winner, the Tritons were down 2-3. Their 1's and 5's were able to secure victories in the early stages of the competition which left the Tritons in prime striking distance to win the day. The boys went down early in the 4's match but fought back hard to even the score halfway through. Great defense by Junior Caleb Snider, and serving by Senior Evan Nordstrom helped the Tritons pull ahead and ultimately claim the victory.
The Tritons are back in action next week, time and date are still TBD. The playoff brackets will be released later this weekend.
