Pacifica Christian Baseball Captures First League Title in School History
For the first time in school history, the Tritons have captured a league championship, finishing league play with an impressive 8–1 record and continuing one of the strongest seasons the program has ever seen. With two non-league matchups remaining, including Senior Night, Pacifica currently sits at 17–5–1 overall and is playing some of its best baseball with the postseason just around the corner.
This year’s championship run has been built on a complete team effort. Offensively, the Tritons have been consistent, aggressive, and productive, posting a .325 team batting average, collecting 207 hits, scoring 196 runs, and driving in 161 RBIs. Pacifica has also shown extra-base power throughout the lineup, tallying 29 doubles, 22 triples, and 4 home runs on the season.
On the mound, the Tritons have been just as impressive. Pacifica’s pitching staff has posted a strong 2.40 team ERA, helping the Tritons control games and limit opponents throughout league play. The combination of seniors Johnny Coopman, Jon Stone, and junior Josiah Miller have been a steady presence on the mound this season. That balance between timely hitting, disciplined defense, and strong pitching has been a defining piece of the team’s success.
Leading the way has been Azusa Pacific University commit Johnny Coopman, who has been a major contributor both at the plate and on the mound. Coopman’s leadership, competitive presence, and ability to impact the game in multiple ways have helped set the tone for a historic season.
The Tritons have also received standout production from Scout Escobedo, who is batting an outstanding .487 on the season. His consistency at the plate has been a major spark for the Pacifica offense and a key reason the Tritons have remained one of the most dangerous teams in their league.
What makes this championship especially meaningful is the growth of the program. This group has not only won games, but has raised the standard for Pacifica Christian Baseball. From the first pitch of the season to the final stretch of league play, the Tritons have competed with confidence, toughness, and belief.
As Pacifica prepares for its final two regular-season games and turns its attention toward the postseason, the message is clear: this team is not finished.
The Tritons have already made history by bringing home the program’s first league title. Now, with momentum building and postseason baseball on the horizon, Pacifica Christian Baseball is looking to continue its historic run.
