Baseball Coaching Update

As the third year of Pacifica Christian Baseball has officially ended, we are pleased to announce that Assistant Coach Beau Amaral will be taking over the head coaching responsibilities, and former Head Coach Chris Gomez will be stepping into an assistant coaching role.

Coach Gomez helped found and launch the Baseball program back in 2021 and has created a thriving team. In just three years, Coach Gomez led the Tritons to an overall record of 36-26 and led the team to a CIF-SS Division Championship appearance and an appearance in the state tournament this year.  Under his guidance, the Tritons were ranked number one in the CIF Division 8 Polls for over two months, the longest number-one slot held in school history, and he was named the 2023-2024 San Joaquin League Coach of the Year. We are extremely grateful for Coach Gomez and his dedication to not just baseball, but to the entire Pacifica Christian community.

With that said, we are excited to announce that Assistant Coach Beau Amaral will be stepping up as the new Head Coach for Pacifica Christian Baseball. For the last three years, Coach Beau has been an assistant coach under Coach Gomez. Beau grew up locally in Huntington Beach where he attended Huntington Beach High School.  After high school, Beau played at UCLA for three seasons, making two College World Series appearances. Following his junior season, Beau won the Division 1 Rawlings Gold Glove for Centerfield and finished his career as UCLA's all-time leader in postseason games played, hits, and at-bats. Coach Beau has a deep knowledge and love for the game of baseball as well as a passion for helping students continue to grow in their faith.

“I am excited to see our baseball program continue to grow and flourish under Beau’s leadership.” said Director of Athletics and Student Life Brandon Gonzalez” I am extremely grateful for all the work Chris has done over the past three years founding our program, and leading us to a CIF-SS Final and State appearance, and am excited he is staying with the program in an Assistant Coach role.”

We are very excited about the future of Pacifica Christian Baseball and know that our coaching staff will continue to work hard to produce not just good athletes, but continue to live out the mission of the school in everything they do.
