Girls Beach Volleyball 2023-2024 Season Outlook

The Girls Beach Volleyball team returns to the sand with over 30 girls in the program, enough to field a full varsity and JV team. The program is led by Director of Girls Volleyball Ron Cheser who enters his second season running the beach volleyball program, after a very successful indoor season. Alongside Coach Cheser are assistant coaches Amanda Ammann and Melanie Connell. When asked about the upcoming season Coach Ron stated, "I'm hopeful and excited for this upcoming season to watch the girls improve their knowledge of the game. As a program, we want to continue to grow and to go deeper into a CIF this year. We have a lot of young talent, led by skilled upperclassmen, and the coaching staff is confident that this group will go far this season!"

The two pairs to watch this season are Chara Wondercheck with Sierra Leeper and Colleen O'Callaghan with Addie Roberson. Wondercheck and Leeper are dynamic together, making it difficult to defend with both of them on the attack. O'Callaghan and Roberson are steady, both with a very high volleyball IQ, and are looking to keep their momentum as the two were paired up last season. Both pairs show knowledge of the court and have great leadership skills.

With Girls Beach Volleyball being an official CIF Sport, the Tritons will also compete in the San Joaquin League. All home matches will be played at the Newland Sand Courts in Huntington Beach. There is one senior on the team, Colleen O'Callaghan who will be honored on April 9th.
