Girls Beach Volleyball 2022-2023 Season Outlook
The Girl’s Beach Volleyball team has had a strong start to the season including four sweeps in their six games played. The program is led by Amanda Belzl who is entering her first season as head coach of this program. The girl’s beach volleyball program will have two levels again this year with full rosters on both teams.
When asked about the upcoming season, Belzl stated, "I am encouraged by this group of girls, not only for their talent and skill, but for their love and heart for the game. Many of our girls also played indoor for Pacifica, so it's been incredible to watch them transition from the court to the sand, and see them progress as they practice and hone new skill sets necessary to be successful in beach volleyball."
Players to watch this season include Sophomore Chara Wondercheck and Junior Colleen O’Callaghan. Chara is a dynamic athlete. She plays with a high beach volleyball IQ, and while this makes her a fierce competitor to play against, she is an experienced player who shares her knowledge and love of the game with her teammates. Colleen has taken on a leadership role on our team from day one. She has proven to be a well-rounded player for us, and is someone who leads by positive example and brings energy and positivity to the team.
All home games will be played at the Newland Beach Courts in Huntington Beach. Girls' Beach Volleyball is an official CIF Sport this season. The team has two seniors on the roster and they will be celebrated on April 4th before the match against JSerra.
