Pacifica Christian High School is saddened to announce that Head Coach Josh Espinoza will not be returning next season. Josh Espinoza, who recently completed his sixth year as the Head Coach of both Cross Country and Track and Field programs, is being called to move back to Arizona with his family and start a new chapter of life. Like many of you, we are so saddened to see our beloved head coach leave as he has made a huge impact on not just our athletic programs, but on the entire Pacifica Christian community.  

During his six years, Coach Josh has grown both programs tremendously, doubling them in size and creating a culture that has positively impacted our community by continuing to live out the mission of Pacifica Christian. Under his leadership, both Boys and Girls' Cross Country teams have been ranked in the CIF Top 10 Polls, as well as guiding them to the National Tournament this past season. He has done such incredible work within our Cross Country and Track and Field programs and has sent five athletes to run at the collegiate level as well as a Division 5 individual CIF Championship title this past season, a first in school history. We are eternally grateful for his dedication, vision, and love for his student-athletes.

With that said, we are pleased to announce Assistant Coach Neil Massaro, will be stepping in as our new Head Cross Country and Track and Field Coach. It was made extremely clear through the search process that Neil was the right person to step into this role and continue to build on all the success coach Josh has built over his past six years at Pacifica Christian. Neil has been an assistant coach for both programs for the past two years as well as served in the Student Life Department on campus. Growing up on the East Coast, he ran competitively for seven years before moving out to Orange County. Neil has a passion for helping develop high school students and is eager to continue to live out the mission of Pacifica Christian as Head Coach.

As sad as we are to see Josh go, I am thrilled that Coach Neil will be stepping in as Head Coach and know that he will continue to guide our programs to great success."
