Pacifica Christian Boys Volleyball Enters CIF Playoffs After Historic Regular Season

Pacifica Christian Boys Volleyball is headed back to the postseason for the second straight year under second-year Head Coach Cory Swartzbaugh, and this year's playoff run comes after one of the most successful regular seasons in program history.

The Tritons captured the San Joaquin League Championship, marking the first league title in school history for the boys volleyball program. It is a major milestone for a group that has continued to rise quickly under Coach Cory's leadership.

In just two seasons, Coach Swatsberg has helped bring new energy, belief, and competitive excellence to the program. Last year, the Tritons reached the CIF Southern Section Division 6 quarterfinals. This season, they moved up to Division 5 and proved they belonged, battling through one of the toughest schedules in the Southern Section.

Pacifica Christian played the third-toughest schedule in Division 5 and a Top 60 schedule across the entire CIF Southern Section, which includes more than 400 schools. The Tritons also faced five of the Top 15 ranked teams in the entire CIF Southern Section, including a five-set battle with No. 10 Santa Margarita.

That level of competition has prepared Pacifica Christian for the moment ahead.

"This group has earned everything in front of them," said Director of Athletics & Student Life Brandon Gonzalez. "Coach Cory has done an incredible job growing this program, building belief, and creating a culture that expects to compete at a high level. To win the first league title in school history and return to the postseason for a second straight year is a huge accomplishment."

The Tritons are led by a tremendous group of student-athletes who have embraced the standard of the program and helped push Pacifica Christian boys volleyball to new heights. Their commitment, toughness, and unity have made this season one to remember.

Now, Pacifica Christian turns its attention to the CIF Southern Section playoffs, where the Tritons will host Etiwanda High School in the first round of the Division 5 playoffs this Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. at the Trident Event Center.

The match will also be a Blue-Out Night, and the first 200 guests will receive Mountain Mike's Pizza.

Pacifica Christian invites the entire school community to come out, wear blue, and support the Tritons as they begin what they hope will be another strong postseason run.
